-氨基丁酸（簡稱GABA）是一種天然存在的非蛋白質氨基酸，是哺乳動物中樞神經系統中重要的抑制性神經傳達物質，約30%的中樞神經突觸部位以GABA為遞質。在人體大腦皮質、海馬、丘腦、基底神經節和小腦中起重要作用，並對機體的多種功能具有調節作用。當人體內GABA缺乏時，會產生焦慮、不安、疲倦、憂慮等情緒。

About GABA

4-Aminobutyric acid , GABA is a non-protein amino acid that functions as a neurotransmitter (a chemical that facilitates communication between neurons). Neurotransmitters are either "excitatory" (i.e. they stimulate the firing of a neuron) or "inhibitory" (i.e., they tend to suppress neuron firing). GABA, which is produced from glutamate, is an inhibitory neurotransmitter. In fact, it's the primary inhibitory neurotransmitter in the brain.
